Apply for the CJL Service Focus Internship here

Apply here for the Center for Jewish Life Service Focus Internship!

The Center for Jewish Life Service Focus Internship is a summer internship opportunity for current Princeton first-years. Inspired by the John C. Bogle ’51 Fellows in Civil Service program, this internship will support student participation in service or civic engagement pursuits, specifically ones with a significant Jewish component.

CJL Service Focus fellows will design their own summer internship experience while collaborating with another host organization anywhere in the world, and with the support of the CJL staff. The internship must be a minimum of eight weeks. The CJL can help identify and connect with partner organizations through the application process. We anticipate three possible types of projects:

  • A traditional internship designed by an internship partner,
  • A project that a fellow has proposed and presented to an internship partner, and
  • A project entirely designed and implemented by a fellow.

The students selected for this program must attend pre-departure meetings to prepare for their experience, both logistically and personally. CJL Service Focus fellows will also share their experiences and knowledge in the fall with the CJL community.

There are two grants available for the inaugural CJL Service Focus Internship, and the program is open to any current Princeton first-year. You must be with the internship program for a minimum of eight weeks. Compensation is a stipend of $4,500 for eight weeks.

Applications open on December 13, and are due on February 15. You will be informed about your project by or on March 1. Contact Matt Lieberson at with any questions.
