Lior Sharir, Israel Fellow

I have been the CJL’s Israel Fellow for the past two years.  Over this time, I have had hundreds of conversations about Israel with students from diverse backgrounds—Jewish, non-Jewish, Americans, Israelis and international students.  I am constantly impressed and energized by the thoughtfulness and passion that our students bring to these discussions.

One of my goals is to connect as many students to Israel as possible by providing them with different opportunities to learn about the country’s history, people, culture and politics.  Whether it is in the Israel 360 fellowship that I teach, on trips through Birthright or the CJL Inside Israel experience with former U.S. ambassador Daniel Kurtzer, or through participation in CJL’s Israel- affiliated student groups, I aim to create an environment at the CJL where every student is prepared to engage in respectful, productive dialogue and learning about Israel.
